%100 Volunteers

As Türk Tuborg, we demonstrate our societal sensitivity through our volunteering activities. The purpose of the activities of our “Volunteers” team composed of company employees is to be aware of our environment and fulfill all our tasks from the heart. We do not avoid taking responsibility for our duties to our society and maintain a smiling face no matter what the conditions are. We believe in team work because we know best that united we stand, divided we fall.

We received the Volunteering Program Incentive Award through our Türk Tuborg 100% Volunteering Program at the 11th “Awards from the Heart” ceremony held on May 17th 2018 at the Private Sector Volunteers Association as the 100% Volunteers Team.  

Our aim is for students to receive education in better environments through our school renovation projects. For this purpose;
We painted the walls of classrooms, teachers’ lounge and corridors and provided desks and chairs and built a library by donating books for the “19 Mayıs Primary School” in Izmir that was selected as a school in need after our discussions with the Ministry of Education in scope of our Siroma Project. We also painted the connecting corridors and renewed the classroom doors of Izmir Rıdvan Nafiz Primary School in scope of the same project.
We renovated the bathrooms and kinder garden of Bayındır Söğütören Primary School and provided books and toys for the kinder garden students.

We set our course for Şırnak saying distances don’t matter when it comes to kindness. We distributed chess sets, books and toys that the primary school students in Beşiktaş village of Şırnak, Silopi wanted. We also gifted each student with a set of warm beanies and scarves and a bicycle and witnessed their joy.
After Şırnak, we set off for Siirt. We painted the exteriors and classroom walls of Siirt Aktaş Village Primary School and renovated the floor tiles of the kinder garden. Besides these renovations, we also donated them wrist watches, story books, chess sets, jackets, shoes, remote controlled toy cars and dolls. We gave them each a bicycle too.

We visited the Buca Retirement Home on January 12th to spend some time with the elderly who live in retirement homes on the first days of the New Year we welcome. We had a very pleasant time and also cared for the needs of our elders during our visit to the retirement home accompanied by colleagues from different departments.

This time, we watched the documentary “A New Life” directed by Tuluhan Tekelioğlu during our Organ Donation event in our Ankara office.

We ran “in Pursuit of Goodness” to support the Project called YenidenBiz – “Run so women can go back to work!” and made donations through profiles created under the names of our colleagues who joined the run to enable women to go back to work.

We went to Yırca village of Soma with the participation of Tuluhan Tekelioğlu and watched the documentary called “You can do it” with women who make a living through selling soap and candles by their own means. We provided our support to encourage these women by showing the success stories of 9 women who walked in the same path as them on their journey.

We watched the documentary “A New Life” directed by Tuluhan Tekelioğlu during our Organ Donation event. We tried to see the perspective of people waiting for organ donations and organ transplantation doctors. You may access this documentary online if you wish to get informed about organ donation!
Every one of our valuable colleagues who participated in the Blood Donation event, supported saving 3 lives each.

We delivered the books and toys we collected for the students of a school in Karahan Village of Kars thanks to the support of all our colleagues and gave them a beautiful report card gift. When we first visited students in Kars, we had noticed that they dreamt of riding bicycles so we had started a campaign to make this dream come true. We realized our target of buying 75 bicycles with the support of our valuable colleagues. Every student in Karahan village now has their own bicycle thanks to this campaign!

 

We said “We will run for those who can’t” to support the social responsibility project carried out by Wings for Life Foundation and ran for people with spinal cord injuries together with many participants from 6 continents and 33 countries.

We delivered books and toys to Soma with the help of our employees.

We helped female entrepreneurs of Yırca to reach their target of buying a house in order to use as a workroom during a charity event where they sold soaps and candles they hand made.
